The Collection

Hydra is a series of works on paper created during my time on the Greek island of the same name. Existing within its slower rhythm - without cars, noise, or hurry - I found myself responding directly to the atmosphere around me: the magnitude of the sea, the warmth and character of stone, the shifting weight of light. In this process, mark making becomes a kind of kinesis - movement within stillness. Each layer, each gesture, responds instinctively to a stimulus, like water to light. The works evolve unconsciously, as though guided by the same quiet pulse that shapes the island itself.
